Kathryn is one of the founding Directors of Joyworkz. She loves learning and has completed three degrees including a B.A. in Sociology and Music an M.A. in Sociology at the University of Auckland; and a PhD in Sociology at the University of New South Wales Sydney. Kathryn has held a number of teaching, research and project management positions in business, education and not-for-profit.

Today, Kathryn plays an active role in Joyworkz, managing marketing, facilitating workshops on fun at work and consulting with workplaces to help them create simple, effective wellness programmes. She released her first book a few years ago, a memoir called 'Fun at Work'. Kathryn is also passionate about work-life balance; her current interests include flute playing, walking and learning te reo Māori.

Ross Thomson (Company Director)

NZCE, Diploma Therapeutic Massage (NZCM)

Ross is also one of the founding Directors of Joyworkz. Ross has over 30 years experience in a range of industries and workplace environments, including Telecommunications and Industrial Automation. He has worked in engineering as well holding Sales and Management positions. Ten years ago he decided to retrain in the Health Industry, gaining qualifications in therapeutic massage. During his first few years practicing massage it became obvious (through his client's conditions) that if you let it, work can negatively impact on one's health.

Ross has become extremely experienced in the delivery of preventative solutions for workplace wellness issues as a workstation assessor, providing workstation assessor training and facilitating a range of informative and fun onsite wellness workshops. Current interests include walking, pilates and learning the piano.

 Rob Taylor square

Rob Taylor (Drug and alcohol detection services)

Accredited Drug and alcohol tester

Rob spent more than 18 years as the owner of an automotive servicing and repairs business. He knows only too well the importance of creating a workplace where employees feel safe and valued, and customers receive service they can trust.

This switch in career comes from Rob's passion for helping other businesses proactively promote a drug and alcohol free culture, to help reduce risk in the workplace. Rob's qualifications, experience and desire to help allows him to offer an excellent Drug and Alchohol testing service.

Being a family man, Rob knows the importance of offering protection and advice to those he cares about.
